2nd/3rd Grade Basketball League

Program open to BOYS and GIRLS in 2nd – 3rd grade to teach the fundamental skills of playing basketball thru drills and games. New in 2026 – We will co-op with Pecatonica which will allow us to move away from co-ed play and create separate girls and boys teams.
Practices: Weekday evenings starting late January 2026. Days/times TBD by coaches.
Assessments will be held January 11th from 1-2 in the WMS gym to determine teams.
Games: Saturday mornings starting February 7, 2026 thru March 14, 2026. Game locations will alternate between Pecatonica High School and two Winnebago locations – WMS with lowered hoops or Simon Gym.
Volunteer coaches are needed! Please consider volunteering!

Season starts 1/10/26. Click HERE for game schedules. PLEASE NOTE SCHEDULES MAY CHANGE. CHECK BACK WEEKLY TO CONFIRM YOUR GAMES! Winnebago hosts games on 1/10, 1/24 and 1/31 and we need volunteers to help with the gate and concessions. Call 815/335-3211 to help out!

Volunteer coaches needed at all levels. Coaches will choose practice days/times. Please contact WPD with coaching interest and/or questions.
Art Sadtler League is for girls and boys who are interested in playing basketball in a girls only/boys only league. The league will consist of different school teams from around the area. Players will still be playing for the Winnebago Park District with practices here in Winnebago gyms. Games will be held in various locations in Rockford with two-three Home games in Winnebago.
