Vice President: Greg Vassmer
Greg has lived in Winnebago for 30 years and his two children attended school here. He and his wife are frequent bike riders on the Pecatonica Prairie Trail and his grandchildren play at our parks. Greg is also the president of the newly formed Friends of the Pecatonica Prairie Trail nonprofit organization.
A retired engineer with degrees in Physics from NIU and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona, Greg worked in automative and construction equipment manufacturing.
Greg has been married to his wife Carla for 47 years and they have two children, Ben and Libby, and three grandchildren.
Greg believes the growth of Winnebago has been impressive over his years here and he is glad to be able to give something back to the community through the Park District.
Treasurer: Brad Bull
Brad and his family joined the Winnebago community in 2008 and he has been a member of the Park Board since 2014, after spending time as a youth coach for sports like baseball, basketball and soccer. After spending two decades in healthcare, Brad turned his attention to helping for-profit and non-profit companies as a financial/professional business advisor.
Brad and his wife, Katie, have two children who have enjoyed the many wonderful programs and facilities that the Park has offered over the years. In Brad’s spare time, he enjoys hiking, hunting, golfing and being his kids’ biggest fan at their academic and athletic accomplishments.
Secretary: Michael Augustine
Michael is the VP of Research and Development at a food company in Elgin and has lived in Winnebago for the last two
years. Michael played college baseball and has coached girls basketball and softball, from 3rd grade through high school, for over 25 years. He currently coaches the sixth-grade girls basketball team at Winnebago Middle School as well as an 8U softball team. He is looking forward to working on the Winnebago Park district board and looks forward to contributing to the great work that they do.
Commissioner: Lindsay Metcalf
Lindsay played multiple sports growing up, including one year of college volleyball. She and her husband Brian love to watch sports, and their children, Chloe and Violet, benefit from the park district programs. They’ve both coached their daughters in park district sports and love supporting their teams.
Lindsay has worked as the athletic trainer for Winnebago School district for 14 years and has taught high school health science courses for six years.
